Antique print, titled: ‘Het beeedige der constitutie door AKH Willem Fredrik Prince van Oranje & Nassau souverein vorst van Nederland.’ – This original print shows William I of the Netherlands (William Frederick, Prince of Orange-Nassau) swaering in the newly established constitution inside ‘de Nieuwe Kerk’ in Amsterdam, in 1814. Marked Proefdruk (Proof printing) in the lower margin). Published by J. Numan, Amsterdam, 1814.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Noach van der Meer’ after ‘C. van Waard’. Noach van der Meer, jr. (1741-1822). C. van Waard (also Waardt, active 1793-1814) was a Dutch history and townscape painter.

Condition: Good, given age. Some small stains in margin. Paper damage in the lower margin, consolidated with contemporary paper and acod-free archival tape. Some weak spots in the paper in the image (not visible on front). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
