Antique print, titled: ”Vue de la Ville de Bois-le-Duc.” – A view of ”s-Hertogenbosch, with the Sint-Janskathedraal (Saint Johns Cathedral). A small group of travellers, including a covered wagon followed by a family on foot. From: ‘Groot werreldlyk tooneel des hertogdoms van Braband …’ or its latin version ‘Castella et Praetoria Nobilium Brabantiae …’, (transl.: Castles in the Duchy of Brabant.) by Jakob Le Roy, published 1690-1730.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Jacques le Roy’. Author: Jacques Le Roy, also referred to as Jacob or Jacobus, was a Flemish baron, historian and theologian who lived from 1633-1719.
Condition: Very good, given age. Left margin uneven (from binding) and stained. Left and right margins cropped close to the plate marks. Soiling in the lower right margin corner, a small stain in the top margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
