Antique print, titled: ‘Abcoude van ‘t Meertje te zien.’ – (Abcoude as seen from the lake.) Attractive view onto the town of Abcoude, The Netherlands. Probably published by P. Fouquet Junior in Amsterdam, ca. 1760. Probably published as a small collection of prints, bound in a wrapper held together by a cord.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Hendrik Spilman’ after own design. Hendrik / Henricus Spilman (1721-1784) was a Dutch painter, designer and etcher from Amsterdam, active in Haarlem. He was a pupil of Abraham de Haen II. His style resembles A. van Everdingen and N. Berghem. He made mostly town and city views.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Small holes in left margin from binding in wrapper. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
