Original antique print, titled: ‘Livien Willemsz van Coppenol, Writing Master’. It shows: the calligraphy master Lieven van Coppenol, probably with his beloved grandson. Source unknown, to be determined. It was published in c. 1780.Artists and Engravers: Artist: P.P. Rembrandt. Engraver: P.F. Basan. Published by: unknown, to be determined, in c. 1780. Pierre-Francois Basan (Paris 1723-1797) is a French engraver. He was a pupil of Etienne Fessard and Jean Daulle. He was principally occupied as a printseller, and published a ‘Dictionnaire des Graveurs’ in 1767 and 1789.

Condition: Good, given age. Bottom margin cropped close to the platemark. Edges a little browned. Rear: quite dampstained, hardly visible on the front.General age-related light toning and/or staining from handling. Please study scan carefully
