Original print, number 4, titled: T Stadts Huys Achter Geevel. A view of the rear of the City Hall (Royal Palace) on the Dam Square in Amsterdam, with a canal on which a barge transports goods. This original print is from the rare topographical work ‘Amsterdam met der zelver Voornaamste Gebouwen / D’Amsterdam et deses Principaux Bastimens’ published ca. 1665. This work contains a total of one plan and 70 prints depicting the most famous buildings of Amsterdam (many of which are still extant). The prints are engraved after J. Veenhuisen en S. Webbers. He is mainly known for the many views he made of Amsterdam, and his portraits. S. Webbers is possibly Sacharias Webber (Amsterdam 1644-1696) is an artist/engraver. He was a student of Gerard de Lairesse. His father was a bookseller/publisher.

Condition: Good. Some creases, sheet browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
