These plates deal with Craniology / Craniometry, the study of the cranium and morphology of the human skull. This engraved print originates from: ‘Nuova Enciclopedia populare Italiana ovvero dizionario generale di scienze, lettere, arti, storia, geografia, ecc. ecc. …’ (transl: New popular Italian encyclopedia and dictionary of science, literature, art, history and geography etc.), by Gerolamo Boccardio, Stefano Pagliani, 5th edition, published in 1866 in Turin by Dalla Societa l’Unione Tipographico-Editrice.Artists and Engravers: Plates engra ved by Geatano Bonatti, Nizza, Redenti and others.

Condition: Good. General age related toning with small knick and imperfections. Light to moderate foxing. Some small holes and / or paper loss as visible on scans. We do not carry text pages from this work.
