Original print, captioned “1. Le Lezard monodactyle, 2. Le Lezard tetradactyle, 3. Le Protee, ou Salamandre tetradactyle, pl. 20”, showing a monodactyle lizard, a tetradactyle lizard and an Olm (or: Proteus). This original print originates from: “Oeuvres du Comte de Lac�p�de, comprenant l’Histoire Naturelle des Quadrup�des Ovipares, des Serpents, des Poissons et des C�tac�s” (Bruxelles: Lejeune, 1832-33). *Nissen ZBI, 2344. Artists and Engravers: Unsigned plate, printed by Th. Lejeune after the design of Lacepede. Bernard Germain Comte de Lacepede (1756-1825) was a French naturalist, successor to Buffon.

Condition: Very good given age, general age-related toning to the sheet edges, some small spots. Please study scan carefully.
