A view of the Church of St. Julien and Born in France. This antique print originates from: ‘La Guienne historique et monumentale.’, by Alexandre Ducourneau, published in Bordeaux by P. Coudert, France, 1842. This is the most ambitious decription of the French Gironde region from the first half of the 19th. c.Artists and Engravers: Alexandre Ducourneau was a young journalist at the time from Agen. The lithographs were made in Bordeaux (Chauve, Lege, Faucher) or Paris workshops (Lemercier ou Desportes) by several artists amongst whom: Leo Drouyn, Jules Philippe and Frederic d’Andiran. This plate by Aumanot and J. Desportes.
Condition: Good, given age. Dampstained in the top right margin corner. A small tear in the top margin. A tear in the lower left margin, just outside of image area (closed with acid-free archival tape).
