Secunda Pars Brabantiae cuiuc urbs primaria Bruxellae – Blaeu’s map of the region of Brabant centered on Bruxelles. Decorative cartouche 4 coats of arms, striking compass rose and military scale. Includes Mechelen and Louven. Shows early roads, rivers, forests, towns, canals, etc. The cartographer of the map is the famous J.F. van Langren. Brussels and the most important connecting roads from north to south have clearly been indicated. Dutch text on verso.

Blaeu, was a Dutch cartographer, atlas maker and publisher. He had two sons, Johannes and Cornelis Blaeu, who continued their father’s mapmaking and publishing business after his death in 1638.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
