Medium: Etching and engraving, hand coloured on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 32 x 23.7 cm (12.6 x 9.33 inch). Image size: 29 x 20.5 cm. (11.42 x 8.07 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Remains of tape from previous attachment. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Separately published print, published by Gebbie and Barrie (Philadelphia) ca. 1870 (estimate). The original painting is from 1834.
Biography engraver: Charles George Lewis (1808-1880) was an English engraver, who was trained in drawing and engraving by his father. Many of his best known works are after Edwin Landseer.
Biography artist: Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802-1873) was and English painter, well known for his paintings of dogs and horses. However, his best known works are these statues: the lions on Trafalgar Square.
