By Johannes Teyler after a print from Jan van Call’s ‘Admirandum quadruplex …’ Johannes or Johan Teyler (23 May 1648 – c.1709) was a Dutch Golden Age painter, engraver, mathematics teacher, and inventor of the color print. He was the son of a naturalized Brit. Jan van Call (1655–1703) was an artist born, according to Descamps, at Nijmegen in 1655.
