Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘Al nobil uomo il sig. March: Cav: Gius: Antonio Corsi.’, An overview (Parnassus) of the most famous musical composers until the 18th century. This includes such geniuses as Bach, Gluck, Handel, Corelli, Palestrina, Scarlatti and Pergolesi, and numerous others. Very rare.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Some small stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Etching/engraving on wove (vellin) paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Pietro Bettelini after Luigi Scotti. Pietro Bettelini (Caslano, 1763-Rome, 1828) was a Swiss engraver. He started to study art at an early age. He received instructions from Gandolfi and Bartolozzi; but in his subsequent works he inclined more to the style of Raphael Morghen. He died at Rome in 1828. After Luigi Scotti.
