Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘Al nobil uomo il sig. Conte Cav. Pietro Gherardi.’, An overview (or Parnassus) of the most famous singers until the 18th century. Included are Bernacchi, Bordoni, Egiziello (Gioacchino Conti), and Carestini, among many others. Very rare.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Some small stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Etching/engraving on wove (vellin) paper.

Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 46 x 64.5 cm. The image size is ca. 36 x 55.4 cm.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Pietro Bettelini after Ant. Fedi. Pietro Bettelini (Caslano, 1763-Rome, 1828) was a Swiss engraver. He started to study art at an early age. He received instructions from Gandolfi and Bartolozzi; but in his subsequent works he inclined more to the style of Raphael Morghen. He died at Rome in 1828. After Antonio Fedi (Italian; 1771-1843).
