Description
Subject: Antique drawing, titled: ”Clare Non.” – This attractive watercolour drawing in a primitive style represents a Clare nun. Possibly referring to Saint Clare of Montefalco (c. 1268-1308), also called Saint Clare of the Cross, who was an Augustinian nun and abbess. Before becoming a nun, St. Clare was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was canonized by Pope Leo XIII on December 8, 1881.
Condition: Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
