Subject: 2 Antique master prints, titled: ”Il m”a tire les Oreilles. – Tant mieux! C”est bien fait.” – (He has pulled me by the ears. – Very Good! Well done.) Set of 2 matching prints of a schoolboy, probably reprimanded by his teacher and a girl agreeing.
Condition: Fair, given age. Images fine, with some surface damage. Damage to surrounding borders and paper edges: paper loss, tear, surface damage as visible on scans. Sold with all faults. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Stipple engraving on hand laid (verge type with chainlines) paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Perre’ after ‘Danloux’. We have not been able to find information on this engraver. Henri Pierre Danloux (1753-1809) was a French painter who moved to England during the revolution and was succesfull there as well.
