Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Joachim von Sandrart der Alte’ after an anonymous artist. Author and Artist: Joachim von Sandrart der Alte. (1606 – 1688). Sandrart, born in Frankfurt am Main, was a famour art historian, painter, engraver and translator. His most famous work ´Teutsche Academie…´ was published in 1675 and a second extended edition in 1679.
