Etching on a fine but thicker hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 18,3 x 22,5 cm. (7,2 x 8,9 inch). Image size: 17,6 x 22 cm. (6,9 x 8,7 inch).

Source unknown, to be determined. Ref: New Hollstein Dutch 153 VI/IX.  Based on the fineness of the vergé pattern and the few additions/reworks of this state which is the first state not attributed to reworked / printed by Rembrandt, we assess this item as mid-18th c. (de Haan, Watelet, pre-Basan). (However no visible watermark found to tell more specifically.)

Made by ‘Rembrandt van Rijn’ after own design.

Condition: Good, given age. Thin paper spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
