Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: circle with bird.
Sheet size: 36,5 x 19 cm. (14,4 x 7,5 inch). Image size: 35 x 17,5 cm. (13,8 x 6,9 inch).

From: ‘Const-Thoonende Iuweel […]’, by Zacharias Heyns, published in Zwolle, 1607. In this work the 1606 Haarlem Rhetorician meeting.

Made by an anonymous engraver after Zacharias Heyns. Zacharias Heyns (c.1566-c.1638) was a Flemish publisher, bookseller and author of poetry and proze. He was active in Antwerp and from c.1592 in Amsterdam and from 1606 Zwolle, where he became the provincial printer.

Condition: Good, given age. Some creasing. Original folding. Pinsize hole. Small tears at fold, backed. Right paper edge remargined. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
