Z.E. den Luit.t Generaal B.n D.H. Chasse
Portrait of David Hendrik, Baron Chassé (1765-1849) was a Dutch soldier from Tiel who fought both for and against Napoleon. He commanded the Third Netherlands Division that intervened at a crucial moment in the Battle of Waterloo. In 1830 he bombarded the city of Antwerp as commander of Antwerp Citadel during the Belgian Revolution. (source; wikipedia) With a 6-line verse.

Made by Jakob Udo van der Wilt after Franciscus Bernardus Waanders. Possibly Jacob Udo van der Wilt (1818-1846), which is the only reference to this name we found online and points to a youth amateur work.
Condition: Good, given age. Overall light soiling and creasing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
