Crayon style engraving on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 29,5 x 25,5 cm. (11,6 x 10 inch). Image size: 33,5 x 22,5 cm. (13,2 x 8,9 inch).

P.63 from a series. Printed by G. Engelmann. Gottfried / Godefroy Engelmann (1799-1867) was one of the early large editors of lithographs.

Made by H. Vernet after own design. Horace Vernet (1789-1863) was like his father Carle very active in the early years of lithography. He made many fine prints in this technique.

Condition: Very good, given age. Light soiling and and some surface rubbing in margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
